Objective/function

The Authority for Animal Facilities (AAF) was created to ensure that all research conducted on animals is appropriately supervised to function at the highest ethical levels in keeping with Israeli law and accepted international standards.
Research provided
AAF provides the following for The Hebrew University's and outside researchers:

Breeding transgenic rodents and other special strains at one of the university's SPF rodent units

Importation of transgenic rodents in collaboration with other research institutes in accordance with Israeli law and international standards

Import and export of live animals

Treatment, anaesthesia and surgery of various animal species

Surgery wards and hospitalization in accordance with Israeli law and international standards

Guidance and personal demonstrations of surgical procedures

Rodent "cleaning" services by Caesarean derivation

Full histology service including histopathology reports
